Nicholas Alexander Chavez (born September 6, 1999) is an American actor who portrays the role of Lyle Menendez in the Netflix drama series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story 2024”

The drama depicts a tragic parent-child relationship that has made people wonder who Nicholas Chavez’s actual parents are and how he could portray the character so beautifully.

Nicholas Chavez was born in Houston, Texas.

He lived in Sugarland, Texas, before his family relocated to Denver, Colorado.

However, after his parent’s divorce when he was five, he alternated between his mother’s house in Denver and his father’s in Arvada.

Regardless of the divorce, it seems that his relationship with his parents is great.

Nicholas Chavez refers to his mother as his source of emotional support and talks about her with deep affection.

He attended the East High School in Denver, where he was recruited by his former debate mentor, Matt Murphy to play a role in the school’s production of “To Kill A Mockingbird” when he took over the school’s drama department.

His mother lives in Denver, which might be the reason, why he got involved with the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

By the end of high school, all these minor coincidences and deflections helped secure his interest in the field of acting and theater.

Nicholas Chavez’s father, Nicholas Chavez Sr., and his side of the family were more athletic.

Most of his family members played football and so did he for a brief period, which helped shape his work ethic and discipline.

A “big football family,” as Nicholas calls it, had a major influence on his outgoing and adventurous nature.

This is probably where he gets his “Workout is essential” attitude.

In an interview with Daily Drama, he recalls how his father became so emotional after seeing his theater performance that he thanked his son’s mentor.

When he saw his father do that, not only was his father shocked, but Nicholas was also.

Nicholas mentions that he was completely new to the acting and theater field, and his family played a major role in his decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

However, much information about his parents remains undisclosed, but we do know is that, his parents had a crucial role in shaping him into what he is today.

Contrary to the role, he plays in the drama “Monster“, Nicholas Chavez enjoys a healthy and loving relationship with his parents, far from anything he had to act as Lyle.

His parents are very supportive and cheer him on to live a life inspired by his own ideals and goals, which is evident in his acting roles and his ability to act convincingly enough to make the audience deeply immersed in the plot.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • He is best known for his role as Spencer Cassadine on the soap opera General Hospital.
  • He has won the Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series” and The Soap Hub Award for “Favorite Newcomer.”
  • He is in a relationship with actress Victoria Abbott.
