Canadian singer-songwriter and musician Shania Twain was diagnosed with Lyme disease after getting bitten by a tick while horseback riding back in the year 2003.
At one point, she was rumored to have lost her hearing ability because of the disease, which is untrue.
However, she did perform along with Mandy Harvey in America’s Got Talent, who lost her residual hearing when she was eighteen because of a connective tissue disorder.
Except for the side effects of Lyme disease, such as losing the ability to control her vocals, Twain does not reportedly have any physical imparity or illness.
When Shania suffered from early symptoms of Lyme disease, she said,
In 2018, she underwent open throat surgery after vocal cord nerves were damaged on each side, which resulted from the effects of her debilitating illness from a tick bite.
Five-time Grammy winner Shania’s voice changed after her surgery, but she adores her new voice.
Despite Tumultuous Life Journey, Twain Has Been An Inspiration For Millions

In the documentary, country music superstar Shania opens up about her Lyme disease and her separation from her husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange (who was also her longtime producer and songwriting partner).
She had to endure a tough time after her divorce, but now she is a completely independent woman and is again resuming her singing journey.
