Dave McMenamin, A Philadelphia Native ESPN Reporter On Cloud 9 After Getting Hitched To Malika Andrews

Congratulations to the beautiful couple!!

ESPN NBA reporters Malika Andrews and Dave McMenamin tied the knot over the weekend, marking a beautiful chapter in their lives.

The couple, who both cover the NBA beat for ESPN, exchanged vows in a ceremony in San Francisco, California, with the Golden Gate Bridge as their backdrop.

The 29-year-old Andrews, known for her insightful reporting and charismatic presence, celebrated this milestone with her longtime boyfriend, McMenamin.

But just who is Dave McMenamin?

Dave McMenamin Background

Dave McMenamin was born on October 26, 1982, in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, to his parents, father Jack McMenamin and his mother.

He grew up with his brother, Jeff McMenamin, and sisters, Melanie Palumbos and Shawna McMenamin.

Growing up in a sports-loving family, Dave developed a passion for basketball early on.

His parents, both avid sports enthusiasts, encouraged him to pursue his interests, laying the foundation for his future career in sports journalism.

Dave attended Radnor High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically, participating in various sports, including basketball.

After high school, he enrolled at Syracuse University, home to the renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

There, he majored in broadcast and digital journalism, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the competitive field of sports journalism.

Dave McMenamin joined ESPN as an NBA reporter in 2009

Like Malika Andrews, who covers the NBA for ESPN and hosts both NBA Today and NBA Countdown, Dave McMenamin also works for the network, focusing on the NBA beat.

Since joining ESPN in 2009, McMenamin has primarily covered the Los Angeles Lakers, providing in-depth analysis and reporting on one of the league’s most storied franchises.

A Philadelphia native, McMenamin played collegiate basketball in Ireland and served as a student manager at Syracuse University during Carmelo Anthony’s national championship run.

The couple’s shared passion for basketball made their wedding date even more meaningful. They chose to get married on Mamba Day, 8.24.24, as a tribute to the late, great Kobe Bryant.

The date not only celebrates Bryant’s legacy but also symbolizes the love and connection that brought Malika and Dave together.

Beyond his reporting, he is a passionate sneaker collector and co-authored the New York Times bestselling book Return of the King: LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Greatest Comeback in NBA History with fellow ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst.

Congratulations to Malika Andrews and Dave McMenamin on their beautiful wedding!
