Emily VanCamp’s Absence From The Resident Has Led Fans To Believe She Was Fired

In the Fox medical drama ”The Resident,” Emily Irene VanCamp stars as Nicolette Nevin, aka Nic, a nurse practitioner. Emily played Nic in the series for four seasons before she decided to leave after the birth of her first daughter, Iris.

The Resident” is a TV series that follows the lives of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital medical staff, highlighting their daily heroism and struggles in balancing work and personal life.

It has six seasons and debuted in January 2018 as a midseason entry in the 2017-18 on Fox.

After the birth of her daughter, Iris, her priorities shifted; consequently, she left the show. She said,

I think there comes a moment in every woman’s life — in every person’s life — where it becomes less about work and more about family, and that’s what happened while I was making the show.”

While saying so, she clarified that her choice was not influenced by dissatisfaction or drama on the set of ”The Resident.”

The filming location for “The Resident” was Atlanta. During COVID-19, she used to stay in Atlanta to film the series.

She used to stay away from her real-life husband, Josh Bowman, whom she married on December 15, 2018, since she and the rest of the series’ cast and crew members had to follow COVID-19 precautionary protocol.

After suffering traumatic injuries due to an accident while she was on her way home from a spa, Nic was declared brain-dead.
