Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) will remain on the television show ”Home and Away.” After discovering Mackenzie’s (Emily Weir) infidelity, Tane makes up his mind to leave Summer Bay, considering there is nothing left for him there.
Tane expresses his desire to return to New Zealand. He and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis), start buying land there before splitting up. Although Tane withdraws from the purchase, his brief trip rekindles the yearning for hope inside Felicity’s heart.
Felicity’s romantic bubble bursts when Tane turns out to be cold and distant in the morning. After the night they get involved romantically, he considers their one-night stand a mistake and wants to put some distance between them.
Felicity is shocked when Tane announces that he has decided to leave Summer Bay and return to New Zealand.

When Mackenzie, Tane’s friend, discloses that she has begun a serious relationship with Levi Fowler (Tristan Gorey), he is taken aback. He questions Mackenzie about whether she wants to invest her time and effort into Levi Fowler, who would cruelly cheat on his wife.
Tane’s friend Mackenzie always reminds him about the importance of honesty in marriages. Mackenzie, aka Mac, feels harshly judged by Tane.
After Tane’s apology to Mac, Tane reveals to her that he had slept with his soon-to-be ex-wife, Felicity, shortly before he went to New Zealand and immediately regretted it.
Mac mentions that living in the same town would be difficult, and Tane is about to share a solution he has thought of when Mac’s phone rings. Inside Tane’s head, he plans to leave Summer Bay for their own good.
Tane Is Deeply Attached To Maia
Tane is always desperate to become a father. He finds a baby abandoned at the beach. He takes a baby to the hospital and spends nearly every waking moment looking after her. He names her ”Maia.”
Desperate to become a father, he starts to pursue methods of becoming her legal guardian. Suddenly, after Maia’s mother appears in the episode, he receives a legal warning to stay away from the hospital.

Tane takes the baby away from the hospital and then disappears since he is determined to keep the little girl safe.
He hands himself to the authorities when he becomes aware of a nationwide search for Maia. He gets arrested by authorities and finds himself facing trial.
