In an emotional Instagram post after his passing, Manrika poured out her grief, expressing how devastated she was never again to hear his voice, get his hugs, or bask in his pride.

Life has thrown some of the biggest battles at me but this has been the hardest. I love you with my entire heart Daddy. 26 years with you wasn’t enough. It’ll never be enough. My whole world has fallen apart. I need you dad, I don’t know how to be strong without you,” she wrote.

Her first birthday without him on March 30 was equally sorrowful.

However, Manrika’s posts over the years showcased the immense love and support her father provided.

On Father’s Day 2020, she celebrated how he overcame alcoholism, cheered her dreams instead of pushing traditional paths, and had an amazing modern relationship with her as “not ya average Indian Dad.”

Her mother, Kally, has been just as loving and encouraging.

For Kally’s 2021 birthday, Marika wrote that her mom motivates her.

She expressed gratitude for the good values Kally instilled in her and vowed to make her proud by giving her the world she deserves.
